Our Exhibitions

We love art. Either making our own or, most importantly, enjoying other people’s art. Although we do not claim nor want to be a “proper” Art Gallery, we love hosting Art Exhibitions in our Store, giving the opportunity to young, mainly, artists to show their work, and to other people to admire it.

Setting The Table Cheese And Wine

Setting The Table: Cheese And Wine

In the aftermath of grapes harvest, Tales in Tiles experience store has invited 6 ceramists to a Ceramics Exhibition, with the title:

SETTING THE TABLE: CHEESE AND WINE

In particular, we have invited ceramists, from Turkey, Kavala, Lamia and from our neighborhood, Neos Kosmos and Nea Smyrni, to create works inspired by the concept of wine harvest, each putting their own personal style and signature.

Dilek Oz, Kostas Karakitsos, Stratos Karakitsos, Nikos Katsoulas (Lavatoy ceramics workshop), Kallia Panopoulou and Christianna Theodoratou brought ceramics they made particularly for this theme, and we set the table.

With this exhibition, we try to emphasize on the importance of Ceramics Art and how it can foster basic life values, such as “Together in Simplicity”.

“Together” as in the fact that ceramics are works of art, while at the same time they can be utilitarian. Unlike most arts that are for the fulfillment of the soul, ceramics can at the same time be included in our everyday life.

“Simplicity” as in the raw material of clay, soil and water, as well as the fire needed to bake the ceramic object.

The Works of the exhibition, though, are not that simple, as they contain the experience, the special skills, the aesthetics and of course the soul of each one of the Artists that we are hosting, separately.

The exhibition will last till Saturday the 9th of November!

Exhibition Mantility x Konstantinos Patsios

MANTILITY silk scarves gallery and Konstantinos Patsios will “met” on Friday, March 8 at Tales in Tiles experience store, in Koukaki, to present the new silk scarf with the artwork of the artist ‘The Pre-Raphaelite Conspiracy’.

Along with the scarf, there was an exhibition of the works of Konstantinos Patsios, dominated by ‘The Pre-Raphaelite Conspiracy’.

As Art Historian Katia Papandreopoulou has written about the artist’s work:

“The portraits he uses suggest a desire to connect with the great tradition of painting. Sometimes recognizable, sometimes deliberately anonymous, they abandon their familiar qualities and cohabit with neo-pop culture. Their color tones are bold, while consciously often overshadowing the personalities they frame.”

Konstantinos Patsios was born in Athens in 1977. He studied Economics at the University of Piraeus and at the Grande École de Commerce de Poitiers in France. He received an early scholarship to the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Providence, U.S.A. He then studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts with G. Psychopedis and M. Spiliopoulos, and Sculpture with N. Tranos. He has held sixteen solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad and has participated in numerous group exhibitions.

MANTILITY, the Greek Brand from Kavala, is the first silk scarf gallery in the world. He collaborates with over 50 artists who imprint different designs on silk scarves and are digitally printed with ecological methods, in Soufli.
The “roster” of MANTILITY designers – the founder calls them “MANTILITY Dreamers” – includes, among others, the creative agency G Design Studio, the painter-hagiographer George Kordis, the visual artist Cacao Rocks, ceramist Kostas Karakitsos, photographer Stratos Kalafatis, ceramist Leoni Giagtzoglou, painter Filippos Theodoridis, illustrator Rima Lyma, architect Christina Moschou, graphic designer Sigma Gamma, painter Leonidas Michalakos, graffiti artists Blaqk and now Konstantinos Patsios.

Exhibition of artist Stephania Psarros

Anthesteria – Stephania Psarros at Tales in Tiles

Stephania Psarros’ exhibition Anthesteria was a celebration of the ancient Athenian festival honoring Dionysus, the god of wine, and the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The Anthesteria, meaning Festival of Flowers or Blossoms, was a three-day festival held in late February or early March, marking the transition of souls and the passage of time. Seeds planted at the winter solstice blossomed during the festival, while fruit ripened by summer—mirroring the journey of the soul through different stages of existence. The festival was a time of both joy and reverence, with prayers to Dionysus, rituals to guide souls in transition, and the long-awaited opening of aged wine stored in clay vessels.

In this spirit, Psarros created a world of floral symbolism and Dionysian imagery, where golden flowers represent souls at their peak, cabbages transform into Satyrs, and floating eyes embody souls between lives. Using gold leaf and wine-colored ink on black and off-white paper, her works evoke both the mystery and vitality of the festival. The lotus flower, emerging from the muddy waters of Elos—where the festival was once held—symbolizes purity, transformation, and human consciousness.

A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York, Psarros has exhibited internationally, with past shows in Athens, London, Chania, and New York. Anthesteria was on view at Tales in Tiles from November 23 to December 16, 2023, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in an ancient celebration of life, death, and renewal.

Exhibition of photographer Lena Konstantakou

The Extraordinary Will Take Care of Itself

Lena Konstantakou instinctively understood that to truly know a place, one must return to it again and again—embracing its rhythms, its seasons, growing with it both inwardly and outwardly. This journey, from the bustling metropolis of London to the serene port of Rafina, is not merely geographical but deeply emotional.

Through her lens, Konstantakou captures the poetry of the everyday—the quiet beauty found in the ordinary. Her images invite viewers into a contemplative space, where light, color, and fleeting moments reveal the profound in the simple. With gratitude as her guide, she celebrates life as it unfolds, allowing the extraordinary to emerge naturally from the familiar.

Capturing ThEros – A Tribute to Greek Summer

Danae Sargologou’s exhibition Capturing ThEros was a visual journey into the essence of Greek summer—its warmth, nostalgia, and fleeting beauty. Through 16 Giclée Fine Art prints, the exhibition evoked the serenity and joy that define this season: the taste of sun-ripened fruit, the lightness of ouzo in the afternoon glow, and the bliss of moonlit dances. With vibrant yet soothing designs, the artworks served as a reminder of cherished moments, carrying us through the year until we return once more to familiar shores.

Exhibition of Lavatoy Ceramics Workshop

In his first solo Exhibition, in our experience store, in April 2022, Nikos Katsoulas, the creator of ceramic workshop Lavatoy, presented a collection of Vases, mugs and table lamps.

The lines are simple, the colours earthy and the clay stoneware and terracotta.

The result was a smooth combination of the curves of old times and the linear designs of today.

“We get inspired by the contrast between the primitiveness of the raw material, the clay, and modern functionality, to produce practical and at the same time of high aesthetics pieces or art”.

The ceramics workshop Lavatoy has managed in a few years to become recognizable in the sector of ceramics in Greece and abroad, thanks to the fine lines of its products, beautifully linked to the nature, the sea and the Greek sky.

The workshop’s logo, plays a significant part in this recognizability. It is a copy of an animal-shaped clay figurine of the Neolithic era of Elateia, Niko’s place of birth, a small ancient city in the center of Central Greece, at the foot of mount Parnassos. “This excellent finding of small craft, which may have been used as a burial gift, and object of religious cult, or simply, a child’s toy, adorns our creations as a logo of mimimalism and local culture”.

Exhibition of visual artist Nafsika Tzanou

Visual artist, Nafsika Tzanou, communicated her work for the first time to the public, in October 2021, in the first exhibition of our store too.

Her work, The Analogue Collection, has been mainly inspired by the Greek Mythology, but also from the nature, the exploration of personal experiences, as well as an eagerness for the appropriation of internationally recognizable figures.

Her first piece of art was created, following her wish to create a beautiful Christmas card for her friends and collaborators.  Soon, this engagement was evolved into a torrential creativity, in which she finds the freedom of expression she needs, to escape from the constraints involved in her profession as an Architect.

Nafsika is the Architect behind the beautiful renovation of out Tales in Tiles Athens and our Tales in Tiles Experience Store.

You may find her work available for sale in our e-shop here, but also in our store.
